Girls Class B Preview

Amelia Van Dongen is rounding into form just at the right time, and should take the individual title by a significant margin.  The MDI girls are also a strong favorite,  and have the potential to put 5 in the top 10.

Boys Class B Preview

On the boys side, Mt. Desert Island appears to be the favorite, but a few other teams look to be in the conversation as well.  Their one-two punch of  Liam McKernan and Lucian Avila-Gatz will put them in a great spot. John Bapst looked strong in the preseason and should have a shot as well is all goes together. Griffin Merrill is the favorite individually, but has not raced since September.

Girls Class C Preview

Up front, this meet will look like a dual meet between Orono and Houlton.  The two fastest girls to ever compete in Maine will duke it out yet again, with Ruth White being an obvious favorite but Teanne will push her as she has all season.  The race will come down to the placement of Orono's 4th and 5th runners.

Boys Class C Preview

Sumner has emerged as a powerhouse in class C this year, due to one of the best 1-2 punches in the state.  George Stevens entered our top 21 this week after a great performance at PVCs last week.  Kaleb Colson is the individual favorite but will have some solid competition from a few other runners, including defending champ William Hileman.

Girls Class A Preview

The individual race will likely come down to Maeve Woodruff v. Jenna Van Ryn.  Most recently, Woodruff took the win by 4 seconds over Van Ryn at KVACs. Behind Van Ryn, the Camden Hills girls have been running as a pack all year and will likely win in a dominant fashion.

Boys Class A Preview

Lucas Hutchinson has had a stellar year, and won in a dominant fashion last week in KVACs.  He is the favorite year and could put himself in the discussion of the state title if he wins again.  Hutchinson did not run at FOC so we still really don't know what he is capable of.  One of our other ranked athletes, Enzo Giampaolo, had to drop out of KVACs due to injury.  If he is back, expect him in the top 5.  On the team side Hampden seems to be strengthening heading into the postseason and will look to put themselves back in the conversation for the state title with a win here.
